is life meant to be hard?
Posted by Adam Ainbinder in Life on January 4, 2009
seriously, sit back and ponder that question. think about these events in your life
1) Applying to college – will this define your first job or your career?
2) Finding a job
3) Relationships – if you haven’t been in one for longer than 3 years, you don’t qualify to answer this part
4) losing a loved one, death or otherwise – what if you didn’t have time to say goodbye?
5) figuring out what makes you happy?
6) dealing with a nasty world event, like 9/11, that directly impacts you
i don’t think life was meant to be easy. i didn’t even get into disease, war, religion, etc…
so WHY IS LIFE SO HARD? is it a test? if we learn and suffer and go through all of this, what do we gain? please do share because I am very curious!
do you DIGG? if not, you should!

while on the topic of consuming information, how many of you use Digg? click on the digg button to the right if you do (my guess is few do).
Digg is awesome. it’s explained here in great detail, but basically, this is what Digg does
- Find an article you like
- “Digg” the article (assuming it has the digg tags set up or you have Digg add ons to your browser)
- More often an article is digged, the higher it ranks on the digg website
- Visit Digg to see what articles people find the most interesting
It’s like a popular demand for articles, and the more diggs an article gets, the more likely you are to see it and digg it.
To me, this is a great example of crowdsourcing,
where users decide what people want to see, not editors. I recommend that everyone try out digg. Use it to rank information, but also use it to consume. You’d be amazed on what’s happening in the world that you’re missing because you’re stuck to your existing websites, newspapers, or magazines! can YOU DIGGG it???
